According to Android Authority, the latest beta version of Google Messages (build 2026021201RC00) introduces a small but extremely practical feature. Long-pressing a message in a conversation reveals a redesigned context menu that enlarges the text and allows users to select and copy only a specific portion of the message. Users can drag to highlight exactly the text they need.
This improvement is particularly useful when a single message contains multiple elements, such as plain text, a phone number, an email address, or a web link, and the user wants to copy just one piece of information. The feature is not yet widely available, and users may need to wait a few weeks for it to arrive in the stable release.
Existing options, including copying the entire message, remain unchanged. The context menu still shows actions such as Copy, Delete, Forward, Info, Reply, Select More, and Star. The Copy command continues to duplicate the full message, while the new selection method enables more precise copying.
